When the book closed on the 2022-23 season, disappointment reigned for fans of the Edmonton Oilers. The squad had closed out the season with a rush, but fell just two points shy of winning their first divisional title since way back in 1986-87. They then fell in a six-game playoff series to their divisional nemesis, Vegas Golden Knights. End result: a fourth straight season finishing second in their division, and of ultimately falling short in the playoffs.
