A heat warning remains in place in Edmonton on this hazy Sunday. It’s already 22 C at the Blatchford weather station with a 7 km/h wind out of the northwest. The mercury is on its way up to 31 C today, 33 with the humidex, according to Environment Canada.
It’s worth repeating from yesterday’s meteorological update that there are some important safety tips you should follow in such conditions:
Consider rescheduling outdoor activities to cooler hours of the day.
Take frequent breaks from the heat, spending time in cooled indoor spaces where possible.
Drink plenty of water and other non-alcoholic, non-caffeinated beverages to stay hydrated.
Check for your children or pets before you exit your vehicle. Do not leave any person or pet inside a closed vehicle, for any length of time.
