June 1 (AdaDerana) – The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) has approved the electricity tariff revision of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) with effect from tomorrow (July 01).
Accordingly, the electricity tariff will be reduced by a total of 14.2%.

The electricity tariffs in the domestic category using less than 30 units will be reduced by 65%, as the unit price is slashed from Rs. 30 to Rs.10.
Meanwhile, the fixed charge for the first 30 units consumed will be reduced to Rs. 150. The current fixed charge for this category is Rs. 400.
Furthermore, the tariff charged per unit for the units consumed between 31-60, which currently stands at Rs. 42, will be reduced to Rs. 32. The fixed charge for this category will be brought down to Rs. 300 from Rs. 650.
The current rate of Rs.42 for the category using 91-120 units will be reduced to Rs. 35, while the category’s current fixed charge of Rs. 1,500 will also be slashed to Rs. 1,000.
