Quebec’s spring weather forecast is out and it’s got more showers than sunshine

The last week of March could even bring fresh snowfall — bad news for those needing Vitamin D, but good news for skiers holding onto winter.</p><p>MétéoMédia also suggests that the last cold snaps of the season, which usually hit around March 2, "could arrive later this year." Their models predict a split month, with a frigid first half but a potential warm-up near the end.</p><p>"Another plunge of the polar vortex will extend into our region," says meteorologist Rejean Ouimet. "This will mark the transition into March. We know how it goes — February is too short, so it borrows time from March to finish winter's work."</p><h3>April</h3><p>April could be a weather rollercoaster. The Almanac suggests that the bad weather from April will stick around for the first few days before giving way to colder-than-average temperatures.</p><p>Warmer air will then bring torrential rain across the province. The following week should be clearer, but rain is likely to return around for <a href="https://www.mtlblog.com/family-day-quebec-holidays" target="_blank">Journée nationale des Patriotes</a> on May 19. The good news? The final week of May is forecasted to be “pleasant,” with temperatures trending upward—though thunderstorms remain a possibility.</p><h3>June</h3><p>Quebecers will have to keep their umbrellas handy before summer arrives on June 20. The Farmer's Almanac forecasts a "wet and stormy" pattern, with every second week bringing rain or thunderstorms.
