Two men are recovering in hospital after a brazen daylight shooting at a hair salon in Sydney's Inner West with police investigating potential links to gangland crime.
The men, aged 33 and 20, were allegedly shot by what witnesses called a "cool, calm, collected" gunman at Adel's Salon on Marrickville Road in Marrickville just before 2pm on Friday.
The pair were rushed to hospital with the 33-year-old suffering a gunshot wound to the buttocks and the 20-year-old suffering a gunshot wound to the chest.

This morning both men are now in a stable condition.
Superintendent Despa Fitzgerald said yesterday both men are known to police and officers believe the "brazen" attack was targeted.
"It isn't random," she said.
Police are investigating whether the shooting is linked to the recent execution of high-level Comanchero bikie gang member Alen Moradian who was gunned down in a Bondi Junction carpark.
NSW police officer Peter Moroney told Today that police are likely investigating links to other outlaw motorcycle gangs.
"There are some allegations they may be linked to another outlaw motorcycle gang, perhaps Bandidos," he said.
"If that is the case, if we look at the shooting two weeks ago with links to the Comancheros and if that is true we go back to the old days of the Father's Day massacre."
He said the gunman was likely laying in wait outside the barbershop.
"The mere fact that they knew the two victims were inside the barbershop does give you some indication that either they were being watched or that they had an idea that that's where they were going to be," he said.
Two car fires were extinguished shortly after the shooting with a silver Kia Stinger in Sydenham believed to be the getaway car.
A Mitsubishi Triton was found ablaze in Dulwich Hill where police believe a third "getaway car" fled yesterday afternoon.
Police were hunting for the white Toyota Camry with the registration DMM59H which was seen leaving the scene of the car fire in Dulwich Hill.
9News understands no arrests have been made yet over the shooting.
The daylight shooting had the Marrickville community on edge, occurring during school holidays on a busy strip just 100m from the police station.

Witnesses reported hearing up to seven gunshots before authorities swarmed the strip.
"When I heard the noise initially, I didn't think anything bad had happened because there were still mums with prams walking along," one local said.
Witnesses also saw the alleged gunman leave the hair salon in a "cool, calm and collected" manner.
"The whole thing just seemed normal," they said.
