The founder of Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc, Atedo Peterside has declared the ‘All Eyes On The Judiciary’ slogan as a neutral one that should not offend any sincere and right-thinking person.
Naija News recalls the emergence of the ‘All Eyes on The Judiciary’ billboard in Abuja and some other places caused a stir in the country.
The billboards, sponsored by a group known as the Diaspora for Good Governance were put up ahead of the anticipated delivery of the verdict on the outcome of the 2023 presidential election challenging the victory of President Bola Tinubu.
However, a statement on Tuesday by the Director-General of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo said the billboard is capable of blackmailing the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal and should not have been approved.
To this end, ARCON ordered that all the materials being exposed be brought down immediately and the violators sanctioned.
Reacting to the development in a tweet on Friday, Peterside said there is nothing wrong with the slogan, and should be acceptable in a civilized society.
“For the record, methinks #AllEyesOnTheJudiciary is a neutral slogan that should ordinarily not offend a right-thinking and sincere person in a civilized society.
“I can understand someone rejecting a negative slogan like let us turn our noses up at the judiciary.
“Enough said,” he tweeted.
