The All Stars are barely two weeks into the show and they already feel stressed, overwhelmed and some even irritated by their fellow housemates.
Many of the housemates revealed this during their diary session with Big Brother as they got to de-stress and cool off in the diary room due to the therapeutic nature of the sessions
Here are the highlights from this week’s diary sessions so far.
Cross Tries To Clear A Misunderstanding
Cross opened up to Big Brother about how he was misunderstood by the housemates when he was trying to pass the message that women have it relatively easier than men and that pretty privilege worked well for them.
In his rather sombre diary session, he explained that he did not mean to undermine women’s hard work because he had watched his single mother work hard while trying to raise six children. He got emotional as he recounted to ‘Biggie’ how his late father’s friends denied her favours because she refused to sleep with them and chose to work hard for herself. He used this story to buttress the point he was trying to make; that sex is not what makes life easier for women.
Uriel Tears Up After Wild Realization
Uriel had quite a myriad of things to say during her diary session.
She poured out her heart to Big Brother and even broke down while expressing that she was embarrassed at how she behaved when she was drunk on Sunday, referring particularly to the kiss she shared with Neo. She explained that she went back on the promise she made to herself not to get involved with anybody in such manner.
Uriel also lamented that she was tired of being labelled as ‘nice’ all the time because it makes people forget that she’s human and when she gets angry, it comes off as ‘out of character’.
She mentioned that she had always been a loner and that she was finding it difficult to cope with the need to be in a clique or an alliance with fellow housemates.
In all of this, she believes she has uncovered some of the housemates’ strategies. She pointed out that Mercy’s strategy was her constant neutrality, Whitemoney’s was cooking and putting on a show, and Venita was a master manipulator – but not in a bad way.
Mercy’s Mystery Love Interest
Mercy made mention of the ships that haven’t really been sailing; interestingly, hers included.
She revealed to Big Brother that she would have liked to be in a ship, but the ‘boys in the house were not intentional’ about the women they made advances to.
However, she gave no hint of who she was admiring.
Neo Reveals Most Trusted Ally
Neo Energy confessed that he nominated TolaniBaj to stay in the house during the Pardon Me Please nomination process. In his words, he and TolaniBaj are ‘loyal to each other to a fault’ and she would have his back more than everyone else in the house, including his cousin, Venita. He mentioned that his emphasis this season is on ‘strategic, strong, and unbreakable alliances’, and he feels like he shared such with TolaniBaj.
Seyi Expresses Disgust
Seyi did not hide his irritation at some of the housemates who, according to him, believe that bad behaviour is an effective game strategy, and he mentioned names – Ilebaye, Princess, Angel, and Doyin.
WhiteMoney Reveals Alliance With Mercy
Whitemoney plainly admitted to himself and to Big Brother that he knew that nobody will pardon him during the nomination process, but it seems like the ‘WhiteLambo’ alliance is back up.
He mentioned that he and Mercy had an agreement not to put each other up for eviction. According to him, the alliance exists because all the other housemates believe that they should not be in the house because they are previous winners.
He also requested for Big Brother to play some of his songs during to Sunday night parties in a bid to market himself as an upcoming artist.
Doyin Makes Effort To Safeguard Her Birthday
Doyin, whose birthday is coming up said that she does not want to celebrate it ‘with people that hate her’, so, to that effect, she does not want a birthday cake or any form of celebration at all. In her words, ‘there is no love in the house.’
Cee-C Believes She’s Being Set Up
Cee-C revealed to Big Brother during her diary session that she observed that some of the housemates were trying to rile her up because of the quick-tempered character trait she displayed during her last Big Brother Naija season – especially Alex – and that that was their own game strategy.
You can catch up with the Big Brother Naija All Stars on 24-hour channels 198 on DStv and 49 on GOtv, or you can stream it live on Showmax.
