Aug 13 (Daily Mirror) – State Minister of Finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said although the imports of vehicles has been halted due to the economic crisis, the import restrictions will be relaxed soon for selected vehicles used for public transport services and cargo transportation.
While speaking to the media at Ruwanwella he said that a gazette notification will be issued this week relaxing the restrictions on the import of lorries, trucks and buses used for public transport.
He further said this decision was taken as the country’s economy is currently recovering.
