Dymocks customers have been told their "customer information may have been compromised" after the bookstore sent an email to their members this afternoon.

The popular Australian store told customers they wanted to get "on the front foot" and were still investigating the security breach.

"For now, we advise you to be vigilant and monitor your accounts for any unauthorised activity, and as a precaution change your password," Dymocks managing director Mark Newman said to members in a letter.
