It’s the All Stars season, and unlike previous seasons, Big Brother gave us a mix of popular and newly inducted ex-housemates. While many might have opined at the show’s premiere that the winning housemate has been decided based on the lineup of strong and opinionated housemates, this season took a different turn and reminded everyone why Big Brother Naija is Africa’s biggest reality TV show.
With housemates like Ilebaye, who spent two weeks in the Level Up season, rising through the ranks to become one of the top contenders for the N120 million grand prize, to popular housemates like Whitemoney, who won the Shine Ya Eye season, who left the season earlier than housemates who didn’t make it far in their respective seasons; Big Brother has shown us that BBNaija is a leveller and everyone stands an equal chance, if you play the game well.
Here are the BBNaija All Stars finalists and how they played their games to the finals.
Cee-C
When Cee-C was unveiled as one of the housemates, fans of the show could not help but scream in excitement because we all knew she had the fire to keep us glued to our screens. Which is exactly what she planned to do, but beyond that, the grand prize was the ultimate goal.
Unlike her previous attempt, Cee-C had made sure to have fun despite her seemingly conservative nature. She parties hard, puts herself forward to participate in tasks, brings hell to earth if someone steps on her toes and has shown care to those she has a strong relationship with in the house.
Whether she wins or not, she gave a show.
Ilebaye
During the Level Up season, we didn’t get to see much of Ilebaye, the Gen Z Baddie. It all changed with the All Stars Season as she has served everything. From weekly iconic fight moments proudly sponsored by Biggie’s alcohol to her resilience during tasks and her ability to get a reaction from the housemates, she has indeed played a good game.
Although she had issues getting along with some of the housemates at the beginning of the show, she has found a way to stay away from trouble, as any more mistakes from her would lead to disqualification, considering she already has two strikes from physically attacking Cee-C and Doyin.
She’s one housemate both viewers and housemates never saw coming.
Mercy
There’s only one Queen of Highlight in BBNaija history and that’s Mercy Eke. For this season, we anticipated Queen of Highlights 2.0, and she delivered that and more.
In the usual Mercy Eke style, her outfit choices were on point. She created a buzz around her relationships in the house, especially her new-found ship with now evicted BBNaija All Stars housemate Whitemoney. In all, she was just Mercy.
Adekunle
Adekunle came with a new persona this season, and the fans love it.
Bad Boy Deks, as he likes to call himself, came to have fun and win the money and in a matter of weeks, we all saw how much he has evolved from stern Adekunle to lover boy Adekunle while becoming the housemate with the most task wins.
The Level Up finalist is one of the housemates posed to make the top four spot.
Pere
Unlike what was promised, Pere didn’t retire from his general role this season. In fact, he seemed more authoritative than he did in his previous season, but his fans love him for it.
With two strikes, in three weeks, Pere had gone from being one of the season’s villains to one of the season’s most vulnerable housemates as his relationship with Cross and Kim Oprah started to wane weeks into the show. Regardless of public perception, Pere played his game well.
Cross
Cross is all about having a good time, and this is exactly how he played his game to the finals. Not once was he up for evictions aside from the first week, and his bubbly and friendly personality gave him a chance to make it to the finals as certain housemates lent him enough Moneypoint coins to buy immunity to the final week.
Like last season, Cross found ‘love’ with Kim Oprah and has expressed it on many occasions, but more than the ships he has formed, he wants to win the grand prize.
