Tochukwu ‘Odumodublvck’ Ojogwu has won his first-ever Headies Award with his 2023 single, Declan Rice.
The song was released on March 24, 2023, and is named after an English Premier League footballer, Declan Rice, who joined Arsenal from West Ham United in July.
The song was produced by Trill Xoe and John Wav for Native and Def Jam. The Declan Rice debuted at number 1 on Nigeria’s Top Hip-Hop/Rap Songs chart and also debuted at number 8 on the Official Nigeria Top 100 chart.
On July 15, 2023, when Arsenal unveiled their newly signed player, Declan Rice, the Premier League side used Odumodublvck’s song in the announcement video, which garnered international attention.
