A beloved Queensland businesswoman is retiring after more than 40 years of putting smiles on local faces with her range of products, from fishing tools to adult goods.

Judey "Rude Jude" Aiken has been selling camping, fishing and novelty adult goods out of her shop in Charleville, in rural Queensland, for 41 years.

Locals and tourists alike know and love Aiken, and stopped by the stop to say goodbye on her last day today.

"She's like my mum, definitely hits home for us," one resident told 9News.

"She's an absolute legend," another said.

Aiken is known across Australia for her shop and even made an appearance at the Logies.

"I'll just miss all the people, all my customers that I've known over the years and the kids that have grown up," Aiken told 9News.

The new owners have sworn to keep Rude Jude's legacy alive, even promising to keep adult items in the store, which Aiken says started as a gag.

"A lot of them buy them just for presents and stuff. That's how that corner started up actually," she said.

The 73-year-old is planning a tour of the Northern Territory before returning to Charleville for retirement.
