A year ago on this date, Edmonton Oilers announced the first two new inductees into their newly-created Oilers Hall of Fame. The club’s high bar for getting a number retired — admission to the Hockey Hall of Fame — would remain, but there would be a second level for important players who made major contributions to the club.
