Police are investigating the sudden death of a toddler after an incident at a childcare centre near Darwin.
Paramedics were initially called to a childcare centre in Humpty Doo on Thursday last week.
The toddler was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital in a critical condition. The girl died two days later, Northern Territory Police confirmed.

"Northern Territory Police are investigating after the unexpected death of a toddler in Darwin on Saturday 2 September 2023," police said.
In an email to parents of other children, the centre's director said an investigation was underway.
"The incident is still being investigated and the cause is still unknown, no other children or objects were involved," the email said.
"… we can assure families there is no identifiable risk to any children in the service and again we can reassure families that the safety of your children is always our highest priority.
"Our hearts are heavy, and our thoughts are with the family and friends at this time."
NT Acting Chief Minister Nicole Manison spoke about the tragedy earlier today.
"At the moment our priority is making sure that this grieving family gets the time and the space they need while these important processes also happen," she said.
