Since the BBNaija All Stars season premiered on Sunday, July 23, 2023, there have been conversations centered around the housemates being bullies, and certain housemates like Doyin and Venita have been tagged as mean girls.
Lucy, an ex-housemate on the season, defends the women as she believes they are just strong and opinionated women as opposed to being mean.
The reality TV star revealed this during an interview with Netng on Wednesday, September 6, 2023. She believes that people do not have the whole picture of the activities in the BBNaija house and, hence, do not have a right to judge them harshly.
“I feel like they are strong women in the house, who know the game and went there to live their best lives. If you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen. If, for some reason, people are making assumptions, they are not in the house, and they don’t know for sure. Besides, I’m very sure that these people don’t care about these people’s personal opinions,” she told Netng.
However, she disclosed that she chose to be much more introverted this season because she was protecting herself from the after-show blowback.
“Growth is constant, and that’s the only thing we are allowed to do. I was simply trying to protect myself from the blowback that would come from leaving the show. I can’t imagine all these questions being in a negative light. I don’t think anybody in the world is worth that to me because it took me a while to get back to where I am today, and I’m not willing to risk it for anybody.”
Lucy is unarguably one of the most controversial housemates in the history of BBNaija, with an iconic eviction walk-out scene that many new housemates have tried to recreate but have failed at.
