A notorious convicted fraudster known by dozens of different names has been arrested after allegedly obtaining financial advantage by deception.
Samantha Azzopardi was arrested in Northcote earlier this month.
Detectives charged Azzopardi, 35, with obtaining financial advantage by deception.
It is unclear who the alleged victim or victims are in the latest case.
Azzopardi has made headlines around the world for duping multiple families and authorities in Ireland, Canada, and Victoria.
She has more than 40 aliases and a number of convictions including child stealing after posing as a nanny and targeting a young family in Brunswick.
Azzopardi was remanded in custody and will face court next week.
