The father of one-punch attack victim Danny Hodgson has been granted a permanent visa to stay in Australia to care for his son.
Danny, originally from the UK, was attacked outside a train station in Perth just over two years ago and suffered a catastrophic brain injury.
A talented football player at the time of the attack, the now 27-year-old has undergone extensive surgeries in Perth and has lifelong injuries.

His father Peter Hodgson has been in Australia caring for his son, but time was running out on his temporary visa.
Now, after a meeting with the Department of Home Affairs and intervention from Western Australia's Attorney-General John Quigley, a permanent visa has been granted.

Last month Danny spoke out after his attacker allegedly re-offended.
His attacker sentenced to three and a half years behind bars for the punch that left Danny permanently disabled, but served 22 months and has already been released.
"I've had six brain surgeries, I'm serving a life sentence," he told 9News.
