Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has appointed 103 assistants in three different categories.
The new appointees came barely a few hours after the governor inaugurated 30 special advisers appointed earlier in the week.
Naija News learnt that the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, in a statement released on Friday, disclosed that the latest appointees include 37 principal special assistants, 45 senior special assistants and 21 special assistants.
Wonosikou said the fresh appointments, like the ones made earlier, align with Governor Fintiri’s vision to strengthen government machinery and make it more people-oriented and effective.
Those appointed as principal special assistants include Leader Leneke, a lawyer who took on roles outside his training in Fintiri’s first term as governor.
Tribunal Affirms Election Of Adamawa Governor, Fintiri
Meanwhile, Fintiri has been affirmed by the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in Yola, the state capital, as the authentic winner of the 2023 governorship election conducted in the state by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
This decision comes after the dismissal of the petition filed by Dr Umar Ardo of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
Naija News understands that Ardo had contested the outcome of the March 18 election and the subsequent declaration of Governor Fintiri as the winner following the supplementary election on April 16.
In his petition, filed on May 8, Dr Ardo named INEC, Governor Fintiri, and 16 others as respondents. He alleged that the election did not adhere to the provisions of the Electoral Act.
The petitioners further claimed that the conduct of the election by the first respondent was tainted by corrupt practices, including bribery, threats, and violence. They sought the annulment of the entire election process.
