The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate in the last elections, Atiku Abubakar, reunited with the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, on Friday.
Naija News reports that this comes barely twenty-four hours after the Supreme Court verdict ended the dispute regarding the 2023 presidential election.
Recall the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared President Bola Tinubu, the winner of the February 25th election, but Atiku and his counterpart, Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), challenged his victory in court, losing at the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal and the apex court.
Reacting to the verdict, Ganduje, on Thursday, after the court ruling, taunted Atiku, saying he would wait till 2031 as Tinubu, who is yet to spend a year in office, would do two terms.
However, Ganduje and Atiku set aside their political differences at the wedding of the daughter of Ambassador Iliya Damagum, acting National Chairman of the PDP, which was held at the National Mosque in Abuja.
Photos from the event captured the duo sitting beside each other and shaking hands as other chieftains of the two leading parties who witnessed the occasion exchanged pleasantries.
