Lewiston Mayor Carl Sheline said he is "heartbroken for our city and our people" over the mass shooting.
"Lewiston is known for our strength and grit and we will need both in the days to come," Sheline said in a statement.
The mayor called on residents to "follow all recommended guidelines and stay home," adding that the city is currently under a shelter-in-place order.
