The federal agency issued the warning on Sunday evening, cautioning that "more difficult travel is expected" due to snowy roads and poor visibility. So if you plan to hit the highway early this week — maybe rethink that.

And unfortunately, Montreal isn't in the clear either.

According to The Weather Network, the city will see a noticeable cooldown starting Monday night, with snow beginning overnight and sticking around through Tuesday.

Here's what Montreal is in for over the next 48 hours:

Monday overnight: Light snow, up to 1 cm, winds up to 44 km/h

Tuesday: Off-and-on snow throughout the day, with up to 3 cm total and wind gusts hitting 51 km/h

Tuesday night into Wednesday: Flurries continue as temperatures drop to -7°C (feeling like -14°C)

While we're not expected to see quite the same snow dump as central and northwestern Quebec, winds and cold temps will make it feel a lot more like February than April. So yeah, don't put your winter boots away just yet. And maybe keep the snow brush in the car a little longer.

On the bright side, it should start feeling like spring again come Friday, though, when daytime highs will begin hovering around the double digits into the weekend.

Meanwhile, last week, MétéoMédia's chief meteorologist André Monette said Quebec is actually on track to finish the spring season on a slightly warmer than usual note, with May looking "hotter than average" overall.

Love this?
