The Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy on Wednesday paid a surprise visit to the Accident and Emergency Unit of the Maitama hospital to find out why they rejected the late Greatness Olorunfemi who was stabbed and violently pushed out from a vehicle in motion by a “one chance” syndicate in the Federal Capital Territory, (FCT).
Recall, the death of the 33-year-old Greatness Olorunfumi became a growing sensation after Maitama District Hospital denied her medical assistance after she was thrown out of a moving vehicle along the Maitama-Kubwa highway by suspected criminals operating what is locally known as one chance.
Speaking about the death of Greatness, the minister said that the deceased is a state child and was to be given adequate care, adding that the refusal of the hospital was a thing that was prominent amongst numerous hospitals in the country.
In defense, the Matron in charge of the Accident and Emergency Unit, Habiba Musa stated that the deceased was brought in dead and was not denied medical attention.
She added that her pulse was thready and her heart beat had stopped as at the time she was brought to the hospital.
She claimed that they were in possession of a CCTV footage to corroborate their claim.
