Nollywood actor and skitmaker, Adebowala Debo Adedayo popularly known as Mr Macaroni, has weighed in on the “expensive phone saga.”
Naija News recalls that the spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi had shared a picture of the secretary to the IGP, David Victoria on X which had led to various reactions from Nigerians.
Netizens were quick to notice the expensive phone she was holding and immediately pointed out that she shouldn’t be able to afford the phone with her salary as a policewoman and went on to accuse her of being involved in illicit activities to be able to buy such luxury.
However, Adejobi spotted a comment and asked the X user to withdraw his statement. He argued that police officers are not paupers.
“Police officers are not paupers. Withdraw your statement. It’s ridiculous to us to say a DSP can’t use Samsung Fold 2…. You need to reason straight and be objective. Do you know what it is to be a DSP?’’ he responded
Reacting to Adejobi’s comment, Mr Macaroni stated that police officers also need to withdraw every statement they have made profiling Nigerian youths they see using expensive items and tagging them as fraudsters.
He insisted that officers become objective and begin to reason straight.

Former Deputy Governor of Edo State, Comrade Philip Shaibu has revealed that he was foolishly loyal to former Governor Godwin Obaseki just to make the administration succeed. Speaking in an interview with Sunday Sun, Shaibu, a former President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), said all the actions he took while in office were […]

But whether you're ordering cocktails poolside in Mexico, dining on handmade pasta in Italy, snorkelling in the Bahamas or touring Irish castles, every vacation abroad comes with one inevitable question: What’s the best way to spend your Canadian dollars?

Your go-to credit or debit card might seem fine for travel — until you do the math. Most of them charge FX fees of up to 2.5% on each purchase. Add in potential ATM withdrawal fees charged by your bank to these marked-up conversion rates, and the costs can stack up fast. Travelling like a local is hard when you're busy crunching numbers.

If that gives you pause, you're not alone: According to EQ Bank research1, 80% of Quebecers say it's important to save on foreign exchange fees when travelling — and the iconic EQ Bank Card can help you do just that.
