Burna Boy’s ‘I Told Them’ is already bagging international recognition as he gets nominated at the 2023 Soul Train Awards in four main categories with Ayra Starr getting a nod in the Best New Artiste category alongside South Africa’s ‘Tyla.’
Soul Train organisers unveiled the nominees list on Thursday, November 2, 2023, with SZA, Usher and Summer Walker leading the nominees list with nine nominations.
Burna Boy was the fourth most nominated artiste alongside Chris Brown, Janelle Monáe and October London who also had four nods each. Burna Boy was nominated in the Album of the Year, Best R&B/Soul Male Artist, Best Collaboration, The Ashford and Simpson Songwriter’s Award categories.
BET disclosed that this year’s show “will reimagine the traditional award show ceremony into a soulful party in Hollywood.”
The Soul Train Awards will premiere on Sunday, Nov. 26, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on BET and BET Her.
