The UCMAS programme was started in Ghana about 16 years ago by Maurya Education Limited.
During this period, many Ghanaian children have won many laurels for the country on the international stage.
In 2012, Kwabena Asamoah Amoah emerged as the overall UCMAS champion during the international contest.
He went on to receive a full scholarship from a university in the USA.
The initiative has grown to cover the country, with many schools adding the programme to their curriculum.
