The Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) honoured eleven Nollywood actors for their contributions to the African film industry at the AFRIFF Globe Awards Night.
Richard Mofe Damijo (The Black Book), Blossom Chukwujekwu (The Trade), Chidi Mokeme (Shanty Town), Funke Akindele (Battle on Buka Street), Femi Adebayo (Jagun Jagun), Ini Edo (Shanty Town), Nse Ikpe Etim (4-44-44), Lateef Adedimeji, (Jagun Jagun), and Tobi Bakare (Gangs of Lagos), were awarded this honour at the festival award ceremony that held at Oriental Hotel, Lagos on Saturday, November 11, 2023.
AFRIFF’s Founder and Festival Director, Chioma Ude, announced that MTN, the category’s sponsor, has awarded each winning actor 2 million naira in recognition of their outstanding work in the past year.
“We are proud of the exceptional contributions of the honourees to film and television as they continue to make an impact on the industry and showcase more opportunities for global recognition.”
Conceived by Chioma Ude, the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF), showcases and celebrates cinema and filmmaking talent from Africa and the diaspora.
