On Tuesday, November 14, 2023, Oladips shared videos of himself sounding ill while urgently requesting friends and family take him to the hospital for treatment. Hours later, his management sadly confirmed that the 28-year-old rapper had passed away.
In a statement released on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, they said: “We are saddened to inform the general public that Oladipupo Olabode Oladimeji, a.k.a Oladips, passed away yesterday, Tuesday, November 14, at exactly 10:14 pm. We are still in shock as we speak!”
Before his passing, Oladips’ PA, Abdul Rasheed, had shared a statement revealing that the rapper’s mother had requested that her son be brought home instead of going to the hospital.
Although the cause of his death is still unknown, his family has disclosed that they will be commencing his funeral plans.
Oladips officially made his debut in 2016 with the release of his single ‘Saliu Elenu Gboro,’ and he gained attention for his unique flow and use of Yoruba, especially on his viral track ‘Lalakulala’ ft Reminisce. His last single, ‘Die Young,’ was released on October 6, 2023.
