Heartless teenagers have tried to mow down a Gold Coast father after they attempted to break into his home.
The Holland family from Robina was alerted by the family dog Chilli on Sunday morning that something was wrong.
"My wife just shouted, 'Ben they've pulled balaclavas on, they're running towards the house'," Ben Holland said.

A gang of youths were trying to break in.
Holland says the gang was unfazed at having been spotted.
He chased them down and ended up on the bonnet of one of the cars. The thugs swerved, throwing him off before the second car drove at him.
"The white car was starting up and accelerating towards me and drove straight into me," Holland said.
"If he would've hit me, that would have been it, I would've been gone."

Holland crawled home, leaving a trail of blood, before collapsing outside his house where his wife found him.
He is counting his lucky stars he's still here but with the youths still on the run he is worried.
"They were quite happy to run me over to get away, so what are they willing to do to someone else?
"It scares me they could do this to some else who's not as big.
"They would kill them."
