The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Kogi State governorship election, Usman Ododo has extended his lead in the local government results already declared.
Naija News reports the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the results of 20 out of 21 local government areas in the state.
As it stands, the APC candidate leads with 439,245 votes, SDP has 242,068 votes, PDP has 46,093 votes, and ADC has 20,895 votes.
The results from Ibaji, the only outstanding LGA, are yet to arrive at the collation centre.
Based on this, the state’s returning officer, Johnson Urama, adjourned the collation exercise till 9:00pm.
“They will still take another one hour to get here,” Urama said.
The adjournment makes it the second time the collation of the Kogi State governorship election results will be adjourned today.
Earlier, the collation was suspended for about five hours.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner in charge of Kogi State, Gabriel Longpet, said the extension has become necessary since the results of the remaining three Local Government Areas were not yet available.
The collation eventually resumed around 7pm but was suspended again to allow results from Ibaji to arrive.
