GES interdicts two more headteachers over unapproved fees, unauthorized sale of items

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has interdicted two more headteachers for allegedly selling unauthorized items to Form One students.

This comes less than 24 hours after the Service suspended the headteachers of O’Reilly Senior High School and Ghana Senior High School over alleged misconduct.

In separate letters, dated December 6th and 7th, 2023, issued by the Regional Education Offices of GES to the respective headteachers, the two were directed to step aside pending an investigation into the unauthorized collection of money as part of the admission process.

However, JoyNews has sighted new letters addressed to Mr. Afi Yaw Stephen, Headmaster of Berekum Senior High School, and Mr. Joseph Jilinjeh Abudu, Headmaster of Odomaseman Senior High School, directing them to also step aside pending investigation into their activities.

This brings the total number of headteachers suspended since school reopened for first year students in second cycle institutions to four.
