A published list by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change over the weekend revealed that Nigeria has the highest number of registered delegates from Africa with over 1,400 delegates, making it the country with the third-highest overall, in number of delegates at the conference.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu who last year criticized the proposed emission cuts for Nigeria during the elections was accompanied by 138 delegates from the State House, including Nigerian-Lebanese Billionaire businessman, Gilbert Chagoury, who was named as a confidante of the president. Nigeria’s West African neighbor, Ghana registered 618 delegates for COP 28. The figure ranked as the 5th highest in Africa, behind Nigeria, Morocco, Kenya and Tanzania.

In Dubai, a video showing the moment a woman tried to block President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during a group photograph with King Charles the third and other dignitaries, went viral over weekend. The president’s photographer immediately called on security to usher the woman aside.
