A man and a woman have been charged after they allegedly tried to avoid a breath test and caused multiple police chases with a child in the car across New South Wales.
The pursuit began when officers signalled for a Subaru Forester to stop when they were conducting a stationary breath test on Bronte Road in Waverley in Sydney's eastern suburbs about 10.40am on Christmas Day.
"The driver of the Subaru allegedly failed to stop, and the vehicle was sighted on York Road shortly after," NSW Police said in a statement.

"A pursuit was initiated before being terminated on Moore Park Road due to safety concerns."
The man and woman in the Subaru were then spotted in a Toyota RAV 4 Mount Ousley Road in Mount Ousley in Wollongong yesterday.
"Attempts to stop the Toyota at various locations was unsuccessful and a pursuit was initiated on the Hume Highway at Marulan (in the Southern Highlands), before being terminated due to safety concerns," police said.
After the Toyota allegedly collided with multiple cars, police successfully deflated the car's tyres on Jenolan Caves Road at Hampton in the Blue Mountains, before the car turned onto the Great Western Highway.

"The Toyota continued towards Blackheath where it has entered a service station on the Great Western Highway and crashed into the wall of a building about 8pm.
The driver, a 27-year-old man, allegedly got out and attempted to flee before he was arrested.
"The two passengers, a 31-year-old woman and a child, were not injured.
"She was also arrested."
The man was charged with 13 offences including police pursuit, leave child in vehicle causing emotional distress, contravene AVO, drive recklessly and breach of bail.
The woman was charged with dangerous driving offences.
"The child was cared for by police with the relevant notifications made to authorities," officers said.
They were refused bail and are expected to appear in Paramatta Local Court today.
