Following the successful debut of ‘Who Tiff Monalisa,’ a play by Debola ‘Santa’ Ogunshina at the Lagos Fringe Festival, the captivating theatrical adventure is set for its final lap at the Terra Kulture, Lagos from Saturday, December 16 – Sunday, December 17, 2023.
The play follows the journey of two struggling artists, Reki and Eda, as they plot a heist to steal the renowned ‘Monalisa’ from a museum, but they must first deal with an obsessed and witty tour guide, Monsieur Raphael.
‘Who Tiff Monalisa’ masterfully tells a story that explores the importance of art and its appreciation while tackling the credibility of visual art amidst a thrilling theatre play masked in humour.
With raved reviews following its debut at Freedom Park and the British Council, the play is on its last lap with outstanding theatrical performances by the cast, including Uche Chika Elumelu, Austine Onuoha, and Tunde ‘Mister Rain’ Ojobaro.
Weeks after its release, the play has amassed multiple accolades including winning the prize for Best Poster Design in the Stage Performance Category at the 2023 Lagos Fringe Festival. Debola Santa Ogunshina, the brain behind the theatre play, has written and directed over 200 episodes of TV drama and sitcoms with series and films like ‘Itura,’ ‘Man Pikin’ under his belt.
