For the first time in five years, alternative-indie artist Hozier will return to Edmonton and perform at Rogers Place.
The Irish-born musician, best known for songs Take Me to Church and It Will Come Back will entertain fans at Rogers Place on Aug. 24, as part of the artist’s 55-show Unreal Unearth tour that begins Feb. 20 in Mexico City.
Hozier has continued to bring-in audiences worldwide with his provocative, energetic, and organic live performances that span his extensive decade-long list of hits. He has stayed true to his roots as his shows have grown into larger venues, continuing to draw inspiration from performing entirely live with his expanding band.
Due to popular demand, 14 shows were added to the tour, and the concert date in Edmonton is one of four Canadian stops that include Winnipeg, Saskatoon and Calgary.
Tickets will go on sale starting on Feb. 2 at 10 a.m. MT at livenation.com.
The last time Hozier performed in Edmonton was in 2019 at the Folk Festival.

<h2>The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, has urged the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, to prevail on President Bola Tinubu to make a positive change concerning the economic situation in the country.</h2>
<p>He begged the First Lady to tell her husband the truth about what is happening in the country.</p>
<p>"<em>Although we have several means of communicating to the government on our needs and requests, but your way and means is the surest way to tell the President the actual happenings in the country</em>,” the emir told Tinubu’s wife, who was in Kano to open the faculty of law at a private university.</p>
<p>Speaking through an interpreter, the monarch noted that the hunger and starvation did not start with this economy, but the situation has become worse and needs urgent attention.</p>
<p>The emir, who spoke through an interpreter, added, “<em>The hunger and starvation didn’t start with this government but the situation has become more alarming and needs urgent attention.”</em></p>
<p>He also urged her to tell Tinubu to address insecurity, saying, <em>“The issue of insecurity is another serious problem we are facing. I know your government inherited it, but something more serious should be done to take care of the threats.”</em></p>
<p>Bayero also spoke on the relocation of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, and some departments of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to Lagos.</p>
<p>“<em>We are receiving series of messages from our people. One of such messages is the much talked about relocation of CBN and FAAN to Lagos. I think the government should come out clean on this matter and talk to Nigerians in the language they would understand.</em></p>
<p><em>"Do more enlightenment on this matter. I for one cannot tell the actual intentions of the government. We should be made to actually understand the reasons behind the relocation of the CBN and FAAN offices to Lagos,”</em> he added.</p>
