A man who died on a Melbourne street on Tuesday was allegedly stabbed to death by a stranger in broad daylight as he walked to the bus stop.
Spiros Filidis suffered fatal stab wounds in the attack on the corner of Little Avenue and Widdop Crescent at Hampton East, just after midday on January 2.
He was found with upper body injuries on the side of the road, and while paramedics attempted to save his life, the 46-year-old tragically died at the scene.

His godmother Christine Kounelis said Filidis, who had an intellectual disability and recently recovered from prostate cancer, was on his way to Southland shopping centre at the time of the attack.
She has remembered Filidis as a "beautiful person".
"He was always happy, independent, even though he had a disability," she told 9News.
"I just keep thinking about how he was on his own, no one there and he couldn't defend himself."
