Rugby star Kurtley Beale's sexual assault trial is continuing after revelations the former Wallaby apologised to his accuser in a secretly taped phone call.

The woman, who says Beale touched her backside and forced her to perform oral sex in a toilet cubicle, is set to give a third day of evidence on Wednesday.

Beale, 35, is standing trial in the NSW District Court charged with one count of sexual intercourse without consent and two counts of sexual touching following an incident at Bondi's Beach Road Hotel in December 2022.

The former Wallabies playmaker has pleaded not guilty to the charges, with his barrister, Margaret Cunneen SC arguing the interaction was consensual.

The alleged victim told the jury a "heavily intoxicated" Beale touched the bare skin of her bottom in a main bar area, and later grabbed her head and thrust his penis forcefully into her mouth inside a locked cubicle in the men's toilet.

Ms Cunneen began cross-examining the woman on Tuesday afternoon, grilling her on specifics of the night.

The woman told the court Beale followed her into the cubicle, but she doesn't remember who followed who into the men's bathroom area.

Earlier on Tuesday, the court was played a recording of a phone call between the woman and Beale roughly a month after the incident, in which she confronted him with her version of events.

After initially denying seeing the woman at the pub, Beale suggested that the pair "hooked up".

"We didn't really hook up," the woman replied in the taped call.

"We went to the men's bathroom and then I thought for some reason it was on," Beale said in the call.

"You got your dick out," the woman tells him.

"Yeah I remember, I remember," Beale replied.
