The Nigeria vs Argentina clash is expected to take place at the Olympic Sports Centre Stadium in Hangzhou, China.

Naija News gathered that the friendly game is part of Argentina's tour of China and they will also face the hosts of the ongoing 2023 AFCON, Ivory Coast at the same venue and month.

The Argentina Football Association (AFA) and the Chinese corporation concluded the deal on Monday, January 29 and the AFA made the announcement almost immediately.

This means that the Nigeria national team players will gather once again about a month after the 2023 AFCON. Nigeria are currently in the quarter-finals stage of the competition where they will face Angola on Friday, February 2.

Note that the Super Eagles of Nigeria and Argentina have met six times since 1994. In those meetings, Argentina recorded five wins which were in the 1994, 2002, 2010, 2014, and 2018 FIFA World Cups.

It was in the 1995 King Fahd Cup, that the Super Eagles recorded their first and only 0-0 draw with Argentina in a competitive game.

However, the Super Eagles have recorded two wins over Argentina in international friendlies, in Abuja in 2011, and Krasnodar, Russia, in 2017.

Super Falconets of Nigeria head coach, Chris Danjuma, has expressed delight after his team humiliated Senegal in their second game at the ongoing 2024 All African Games.

The Super Falconets have their eyes set on the gold medal as their emphatic victory over Senegal booked them a place in the semi-final stage.

After beating Morocco 2-0 in their opening game at the tournament, they needed a win to guarantee themselves a place in the next round and they got it in style.

During their second game at the tournament which was against Senegal, Loveth Edeh scored the match opener in the 13th minute.

Motunrayo Ezekiel, Aisha Kales (own goal), and Chioma Olise sealed the 4-0 win over the Senegalese Under-20 women's team.

The win leaves Nigerian women at the top of Group B and qualifies them to the next round automatically.

“Our mentality coming into this game was to improve on the Morocco game by three times. We needed to keep going till it was beyond their reach,” Chris Danjuma told CAFonline.

The Super Falconets will now play the second-placed team in Group A in the semi-final stage of the event.

Meanwhile, Senegal's head coach, Mbayang Thiam has argued that her side had a great game against the Nigerian women and didn't deserve such an emphatic defeat.

“We didn’t see this heavy defeat coming. The results don’t reflect the game,” Thiam said according to CAFonline.

Senegal still stand a chance of qualifying for the next round of the competition but they must beat Morocco on Friday to achieve that.

But the province is cracking down, and that old inflatable unicorn floatie might not be the only thing in your yard needing an upgrade.

The change is all about keeping kids safe. The Quebec government is hoping to prevent tragic drownings by tightening up regulations — especially for the types of setups that might seem harmless but can actually be pretty risky.

So, what exactly do you need to do? Well, it depends on your setup.

If you've got an in-ground pool, you'll need a fence at least 1.2 metres high all the way around it. And the existing pool walls do not count as a fence, even if they're tall.

What's more, all gates or doors to the pool area must close automatically and have a working latch.

For above-ground pools, there's a bit more wiggle room. If the pool walls are at least 1.2 metres high and are not easy to climb, they can be considered a natural barrier. If not, the pool must be surrounded by a fence.

If you've got a ladder or platform, those must also be fenced off or secured with a proper locking system.

Temporary or inflatable pools — even if they're only up for the summer — also have to follow the same fence rules if they're deeper than 60 centimetres (around two feet). That's not a lot, so a number of backyard setups might be affected. And yes, you may be required to get hold of a municipal permit, even for a temporary pool.

One last thing: make sure there's nothing close to the fence that someone could use to climb over it — no barbecues, picnic tables, recycling bins, or anything like that within a metre of the barrier.

Some cities may have additional rules, so checking with your municipality is essential if you want to get familiar with the specifics.

And not playing by the rules could cost you. Fines come in between $500 and $700, and can go up to $1,000, especially if you don't fix things after getting a warning.

So, if you want to enjoy your pool worry-free this summer, now's the time to make sure you're in the clear.

Call your municipality, double-check your setup, and get ahead of it before the hot days hit. Because nothing ruins a pool party like a fine — or worse.

Love this?
