SNAP: Two new openings at SNAP Saturday, both directly engaging the past. First, Alison James’ The In-Betweens is all about the creation, storage and recollection of the artist’s memories using five emotional, looping animations, alongside accompanying tactile sculptural elements.
James will have an artist’s talk at 6 p.m. Saturday. Rachel Livedalen’s And Index of Sorts, meanwhile, has a grid-like design on the gallery’s walls, grouping framed works of paper and printed fabric blending Greco-Roman art history mixed with modern culture.

Ennio Morricone: A Fistful of Film Scores: Do-de-loo-de-loo wah-wahhh-wah. One of the most recognizable film score wizards gets two nights of tribute from the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra.
As well as classic highlights like the onomatopoeically aforementioned The Good, The Bad and the Ugly and a pair of Fistful of Dollars themes, the Lucas Waldin-conducted show begins with the slow-boil theme from The Hateful Eight, and ends on the utterly haunting music of The Mission. You need this one, do it!
