A woman accused of poisoning and killing her own elderly parents has been re-arrested for allegedly breaching her bail multiple times.

Raelene Polymiadis was on home detention with strict conditions after she was charged over the death of her mother and father, Brenda and Lynton Anderson, who died a year apart.

She is accused of killing them using her own insulin. Her mother died in 2022, while her father died in April last year.

Raelene Polymiadis has been charged with two counts of murder.

Today the 63-year-old was taken back to jail after she went shopping. Her bail conditions allowed her to leave home only for medical appointments.

In August, Polymiadis was granted house arrest after a marathon month-long court battle due to fears she could not properly manage her type 1 diabetes behind bars.

Her strict conditions also included not contacting her three siblings, and her family put up hundreds of thousands of dollars as surety.

But on Friday police turned up at her door and alleged she had breached bail five times in recent weeks, on one occasion “strolling” to the nearby shops.

Polymiadis said she was visiting a pharmacy but the magistrate today said that was a lie as CCTV showed despite Ingle Farm Plaza having two chemists, she didn’t go to either.

Prosecutors also said she pulled over on multiple occasions at various addresses to make phone calls and refused to give up the name of a mystery woman who got into her car with her.

Despite hearing the allegations of the bail breaches, the magistrate who heard the case granted Polymiadis bail again.

Prosecutors appealed, so in the next 72 hours Polymiadis will remain in custody until she goes to the Supreme Court where she’ll argue for her freedom again.
