The thrill of the festive season is slowly dissipating. However, we cannot forget in a hurry how couples took to their social media platforms to showcase images of themselves in matching outfits. The singles felt the tension at every corner. It’s not going to be any different this Valentine’s Day. We expect more.

From couple pictures to thoughtful messages and public displays of affection that will make most people nauseous, Valentine’s Day is about to bring the ‘God when’ crooners out of their nest, rightfully so.

As Valentine’s Day is some days away and the thrill is up in the air, here are five romantic shows to put you in the mood for love.

Dead Serious

Have you imagined Sabinus and Sharon Ooja playing lovers in a Nollywood rom-com? No, right? We thought so too, until the trailer for Dead Serious hit the internet.

Dead Serious tells the story of Sabinus, a young man who’s in love but struggles to get his love interest’s father’s blessings as he disapproves of their relationship due to his financial status. The romcom features a range of A-list stars, including Sharon Ooja, Sabinus, Nkem Owoh, Deyemi Okanlawon and more.

Hunt Game Show

If you are looking for love and you are looking for a show that connects single people to their special person, Hunt Game Show is that show to watch out for.

The dating show hosted by Nons Miraj offers a blend of comedy and romance as it brings individuals from different parts of life together. All the pre-existing parties need to do is shoot their shots.

Love Is Blind

Looking to watch a social experiment where single men and women look for love and get engaged before meeting in person? Love Is Blind is that show. On February 14, 2024, the show will be premiering its sixth season and it looks exciting already.

The show introduces us to a line-up of single people with intentions to find love. However, the couples cannot see each other in person and must form an emotional connection by only communicating via pods/microphones.

Too Hot To Handle

If you’re in the mood for love, this is the ultimate series for you. On this show, contestants have no idea they are on a dating show that forbids any form of intimacy.

With a huge cash prize on the line and 24-hour surveillance, the couples are expected to strictly follow the no-touching rules. If they go against the rules, they lose thousands from the prize pot.

The show is currently streaming on Netflix and in its fifth season.

The Counsellor

Imagine planning a Valentine’s Day treat for your partner, and your partner breakups with you before the D-Day. That’s the central theme for The Counsellor.

‘The Counsellor’ delves into the lives of Aisha and Gbenro, who are nursing heartbreaks as their partners end their relationship just before Valentine’s Day. In the film they find themselves thrown together on a non-refundable getaway planned with their now-exes. The romcom is currently showing on Showmax.
