Despite receiving his first Grammy nomination in three categories in November 2023, Davido failed to secure any awards. Burna Boy, who had the potential to become the first Nigerian artist to win a Grammy twice in a major category, saw all four of his nominations slip through his fingers.

Ayra Starr, nominated for Best African Music Performance alongside Asake and Olamide’s Amapiano, ultimately lost the award to South African musician Tyla.
