An autopsy completed this week has determined homicide to be the cause of death of a man who was found inside a south side home on Feb. 26.
The autopsy found Ozan Budak, 35, was shot to death, Edmonton police said in a late Friday news release.
Budak was found several hours after police were called to the area of 106 Street and 74 Avenue, in the Queen Alexandra neighbourhood, to investigate several reports of gunshots. An initial search around 6 p.m. by officers turned up nothing suspicious, but officers were called back around 11:20 p.m. after being told a man’s body had been found at a home, police said.
Budak was declared dead when officers and paramedics arrived.
Homicide detectives are interested in seeing any doorbell or dashcam footage from residents who live in the area, specifically from 6 p.m. to midnight on Feb. 26.
No arrests have been made in the case.
