Toddler and woman trapped under car in Perth driveway emergency

A woman and a toddler are in a serious condition after a car rolled down a slope and hit the pair in a driveway in the Perth suburb of Edgewater.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Wood Ridge, near Edgewater Drive, about 3.30pm (6.30pm AEDT) on Friday.

The woman was trapped under the vehicle for at least an hour with firefighters needing to use hydraulics to lift the vehicle up and free her.

Paramedics worked on the woman for another hour before she was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital with serious injuries.

The toddler was rushed to Perth's Children's Hospital with both tonight in a serious condition.

It's unknown how the Kia rolled from one part of the driveway to hit the two cars parked at the end of the driveway.

A WA Police spokesman told the West Australian the car was unoccupied at the time of the accident.

Police taped off the driveway and the road was closed this evening as investigations continued.
