A 10-year-old girl has allegedly been stabbed to death in New South Wales' Hunter region and her 17-year-old sister has been arrested.
Emergency services responded to reports of a stabbing at a home in Boolaroo, about 20km west of Newcastle, about 3.45pm today.
The girl was treated by paramedics for multiple stab wounds but died at the scene, police confirmed.
Her 17-year-old sister has been arrested and taken to Belmont Police Station, where she is assisting with inquiries.
A crime scene has been established as police begin investigations.
