A man has died after a car crashed into a traffic light in Melbourne’s south-east this morning.
The man in his 60s was a pedestrian at the intersection of Nepean Highway and Station Street in Moorabbin about 9.10am when a white Nissan Patrol driving northbound crashed.
It’s believed the car hit the traffic light, which was left lying across the highway.
The man suffered life-threatening head injuries and was taken to The Alfred Hospital where he later died.
The driver of the Patrol stopped at the scene.
The circumstances surrounding the collision and the man’s death are yet to be established.
Police are appealing for witnesses.
Investigators believe there were multiple cars in the area at the time of the incident and are hoping to speak to anyone with information.
