The Sydney bishop allegedly stabbed two weeks ago has been given a standing ovation on his return to the pulpit.
Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel was giving a live-streamed sermon on April 15 at Christ The Good Shepherd Church in Wakeley, when a 16-year-old approached and allegedly stabbed him multiple times.
He addressed the church today in a Palm Sunday sermon, which was also streamed online.
“Every human being has the right to their freedom of speech and freedom of religion,” he told worshippers.
The bishop thanked members of the Orthodox Christian church for their well wishes.
