A Queensland Police officer has been struck by a car in an alleged hit and run in Brisbane’s south.
The woman police say is responsible, remains on the run over 24 hours after the incident, which took place about 11.30pm on Friday in Wishart.
Police pulled over the Nissan Pulsar for speeding but when officers approached the driver’s side of the vehicle, the car accelerated, striking a Senior Constable.
PolAir located the woman’s car a short time after she fled the scene – it was crashed into a tree and abandoned.
While the driver remains at large, the constable was transported to hospital and treated for injuries to his hand and leg.
