The 2024 BET Awards are right around the corner, and African superstars like Ayra Starr, Tyla, Burna Boy, and Tems, dominated the nominees list released on Thursday, May 16, 2024.
Ayra Starr leads her Nigerian co-stars with three nominations for Best New Artist, Best HER for her single ‘Commas’, and Best International Act. The ‘Bloody Samaritan’ singer is the second most nominated African act after Tyla at this year’s BET Awards.
Grammy award-winning artiste Tyla bags nominations in the Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, Best International Act, Best New Artist, and Viewer’s Choice categories for her single ‘Water.’
Seyi Vibes earns his first-ever nomination, while Asake holds his head high with his second nomination.
The ‘African Giant,’ Burna Boy receives nominations in two major categories: Best Male R&B/Pop Artist and Best Male Hip-Hop Artist, alongside Tems, who is nominated in the Video Director of the Year and Dr. Bobby Jones Best Gospel/Inspirational Award categories.
