Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has announced that Emirates Airlines has provided a confirmed date for the resumption of flight operations to Nigeria.
Keyamo revealed this in a social media post on X( formerly known as twitter) on Wednesday, following his meeting with Salem Saeed Al-Shamsi, the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Abuja.
UAE imposed a blanket visa ban on Nigerians in October 2022 while Emirates Airlines suspended flight operations to Nigeria in November of the same year.
In September of 2023, the presidency had announced an immediate resumption of the flights after President Bola Tinubu’s meeting with the President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in Abu Dhabi, a claim that turned out to be false.
