What will your legacy be? That is the question UK Youth is asking, as it links up with Octopus Legacy to offer free wills.
UK Youth has teamed up with Octopus Legacy, a company which helps people plan for death and find support after a loss, to offer its supporters the chance to write or update their will for free. In return, supporters are asked to consider leaving UK Youth a gift in the will.
Emily Hood, UK Youth philanthropy and engagement manager, said: “Every young person deserves to be equipped to thrive and we are able to reach so many more young people with the backing of good people giving something back after they’ve gone.
“We have a bold vision at UK Youth to change the system supporting our young people, for the long term.
“Our ambition is youth work will be there to support all young people for generations to come, long after all our time has passed. Young people are the future and now is our time to ensure that future is the best it can be. Gifts left in wills allow us to support youth organisations to help young people thrive through programmes such as outdoor learning, physical literacy, social action and employability.
“We’re thrilled to have partnered with Octopus Legacy, so you can now write or update your will for free, and include a gift for UK Youth should you wish to.”
We’re excited to see the lasting legacy this partnership will have.
Sam Grice, Octopus Legacy founder
Supporters are invited to fill out a simple online questionnaire to help determine what type of will they need – and then they can choose whether they want to write or update their will online, over the phone, or in person. Octopus’ team of will-writing experts will then review the will, before sharing the will so it can be signed to make it legally binding.
Sam Grice, founder of Octopus Legacy, has said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with UK Youth to offer our full range of will-writing services to their supporters. Gifts left in these will are helping them on their mission to support young people, so they’re empowered to build bright futures. We’re excited to see the lasting legacy this partnership will have.”
